My Daughter, The Poet

Today on the way home from school Jarrah announced: "Today we went to see a room full of signs and all my friends came, too."

Sam: What did the signs say?

Jarrah: The first one said "THE MOONLIGHT DOESN'T MATTER."

Sam: (incredulous) Really? It said that?

Jarrah: And the second one said "HOUSES BREAK WHEN THEY FALL DOWN."

Sam: Wow.

Jarrah: The third one said "DO NOT KNOCK ON THIS BUILDING--IT'S FILLED WITH GLASS STUFF THAT WILL BREAK."

Sam: Okay.

Jarrah: The fourth one said "DO NOT KNOCK ON THIS TRUCK--IT'S FILLED WITH BOXES MADE OF METAL."

Sam: Sounds like there were a lot of signs.

Jarrah: A whole room full of signs. And the moonlight doesn't matter--it doesn't matter at all.

Am I the only one that is completely confused?

More importantly - is this what I have to look forward to when BBJ goes to school?! I'm already confused enough as it is!

It's a good thing I don't keep a Mommy blog. I'd get insecure in hurry with all the stuff Jarrah does and says. Did that sound bad? Are my children reading this? How old is she again, ten or twelve? Geez.

What a little thinker you have! She sure is a complex little girl... I'd sure be interested in knowing what she "grows up" to be one day!

Jarrah is quite right -- it doesn't matter at all. Love that girl!
